PLEASANTON, Calif., Feb. 23, 2010 - Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) today announced the Xerox DocuMateT 3640, a duplex flatbed scanner that can scan up to 80 images per minute (ipm). The scanner features an 80-page capacity automatic document feeder, with an ultrasonic double feed detection system to ensure that stapled or misfed documents are identified and the user is alerted. The DocuMate 3640 is powered by Visioneer OneTouchr to scan documents to a choice of 99 preset user configurable destinations. This enables documents to be scanned with customized settings for resolution, color, cropping, file format and then delivered to virtually any application, folder or device - all at the touch of a button. Bundled software includes Nuance PaperPort and OmniPage Pro, Kofax VRS, EMC QuickScan Pro Demo, and Visioneer OneTouch technology. "The Xerox DocuMate 3640 is the perfect scanning solution for the whole department or just the person who supports the entire department," said John Capurso, vice president of marketing at Visioneer. "Anyone can scan a stack of documents, convert the images into a searchable PDF file and then e-mail, print or store it with a single touch of a button. Visioneer's advanced drivers provide compatibility and connectivity to enterprise capture and content management applications such as Xerox DocuSharer. And the legal-sized flatbed makes this scanner particularly attractive for the government, insurance, real-estate and legal markets."
The Xerox DocuMate 3640 processes 40ppm/80ipm at 200 dpi monochrome and grayscale. It offers an optical resolution of 600 dpi, 48-bit internal color, a hi-speed USB 2.0 interface (USB 1.1 compatible), and a suite of bundled software applications and utilities including TWAIN and certified ISISr drivers.
Euro prices are yet to be announeced. However, the Xerox DocuMate 3640 shoudl be arround 2500 EUR with Kofax VRS Basic and arround 3000 EUR with VRS Professional. It is going to be available soon through retail and online channel partners and major resellers.
