Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) today announced the Xerox DocuMate® 4440, a new compact, sheet-fed document scanner intended to reduce paper chaos, document storage requirements and security risks associated with unorganized paperwork in healthcare and insurance offices. It is one of the fastest and easiest to use scanners in its class offering duplex scanning performance of up to 80 images per minute (40 pages per minute), plastic hard card scanning, Kofax VRS image enhancement and ultrasonic double feed detection.
Healthcare and insurance markets have scanning requirements that go beyond scanning clean-laser quality pages. Items such as ID cards, multi-part forms, varying paper sizes, barcodes and hand-written notes require different imaging techniques.
