Secure Shell (SSH) provides a secure terminal session between client and host using 1024-bit encryption. An attacker who manages to take over a network can only force SSH to disconnect. An attacker cannot play back the transmitted data or hijack the connection when encryption is enabled. SSHD (secure shell daemon) for SCO and other Unix hosts are currently available separately.
Samba SMB server-side file and printer sharing for SCO lets PC clients running Microsoft Windows see a UNIX host as if it were a Windows NT server. UNIX drives simply show up in the Windows "Network Neighborhood." Printers can be shared and files stored on a UNIX server can be launched, accessed, and saved_all without any additional software installed on individual PCs.
